Fawzia Koofi: Voice of Women
Fawzia Koofi who is an Afghan politician and women's rights activist is currently serving as a Member of Parliament in Kabul and is the Vice President of the National Assembly. Koofi recently raised her voice against the Taliban leaders. In a table-talk,which took place in a grand hotel of Moscow, koofi had a conflicted discussion with them over the rights of Women in any sector of society. She argued that women possess the similar rights as men do. She held her courageous conviction:"I am what I am and I don't care what you think of me. I'll lead my life as I wish to".

48 Male candidates and 2 females joined the discussion, Fawzia was one of them. She boldly argued that females are as eligible as men to take any kind of responsibility. A women can as well become the president of Afghanisthan because it is clearly written in Constitution. The restrictions made by Taliban leaders are invalid and valueless here.
The male members of of the parliament were not at all happy with her raised voice. But, Koofi did not stop from protesting. She knew well that it is never possible to make everyone happy. In a journalist conference she used to be kept behind (marginalized) only because she is a woman. She was not allowed to speak in foreign media. In the conservative society of Afghanisthan, she has been fighting to secure a position. In a word, her life is a burning example of fight and protest.
Her step mother used to neglect her in many ways. She used to keep her in sun only because she was born a girl, not a boy. Her soft skin was being hardened in the hostile sun. This made her strong and confident in her practical life. She was the first girl child of her family who was admitted in school. In the year of 1996, the government of Taliban prohibited her study in medical college. She started to work in UNICEF. In 2005, she made her step in politics. In parliament she was the first women to play the role of Deputy speaker.
The Taliban leaders did not stop themselves from giving threats. They put her husband into prison. Even they tried to kill her after she was elected a member of parliament. The only reason behind all their mischievous acts was Koofi's fight for the equality of women.
But, in spite of all this, she had to confront the Taliban Oppressors. In the month of February she met them and engaged in a discussion with them. She said that she felt strong after she confronted them in such a way .
Koofi asserted them that they had no right to pull women back. Last Monday(4.3.2019) ,Washington had a conversation with Taliban leaders in Doha. They tried to find a way to solve the issue of enmity.
The Afghanisthan women are afraid of Talibans getting into power. They fear that it may restrict both their life and living. Many a people will be deprived of education and jobs too. Koofi made greater emphasis on these issues in her speech.
