Complete Summary of The Chair Class 6 English NCERT Poorvi
Mario was a boy who loved having many friends and often boasted about it. His grandfather challenged him by saying that many of the people he called friends were actually just companions. To help Mario understand the difference, the grandfather gave him an invisible magic chair.
He told Mario that if he managed to sit on the chair at school, the magic would reveal who his real friends were.
At school, Mario tried to sit on the invisible chair but kept falling because he could not see it. His classmates laughed at him. However, when he finally managed to sit, he realized that three of his classmates—Guneet, Asma, and Deepa—were secretly supporting him so that he would not fall.
Mario then understood that true friends are those who help us and care for us, not those who laugh at our mistakes.
Later, Mario and his friends visited his grandfather and celebrated with fruit chaat. After that, they often used the magic chair idea to discover who their real friends were.

One day his grandfather said to him, “Mario, I bet you a fruit chaat. You don’t have as many friends as you think you have. I’m sure many of them are nothing more than companions or partners.”

Original Paragraph
He suggested, “I have exactly what you need. It’s in the attic. Wait here a minute.”
Grandpa left, soon returning as though carrying something in his hand, but Mario could see nothing there.
