Jumman had an aunt who transferred her property on getting old on the terms that she should be taken care of by Jumman and his wife. For a couple of years everything went well until both Jumman and his wife started neglecting her . She was then considered an unwanted in the house. Realising this Jumman's old aunt demanded a monthly allowance from him as she gave him her property. Jumman denied. In this dire situation Jumman's old aunt decided to take the case to the local panchayat.
Nobody was ready to help her. So she approached Algu Chaudhary, chose her the head panch and asked her to speak the truth. A panch is the supreme power and noone dare say anything against him.
After careful examination Algu gave the verdict. It was against his best friend, Jumman. According to the verdict of the Panch, Jumman had to pay a monthly allowance to his old aunt. Jumman was a little astonished at the decision of Algu, the Panch. Jumman grew hatred against Algu.
After few days, Algu found himself in a tight spot. After one between his two bullocks died he sold the other one to Samjhu Sahu, a cart driver. Unfortunately that bullock died and Samjhu Sahu denied to pay him . Algu took the case to local panchayat. It was the second time panchayat was held within a few months.
Samjhu Sahu was given the upper hand to choose the head Panch and he chose Jumman thinking that thier rivalry might benefit him. Jumman understood his responsibility as the head panch and he spoke for the right, for the truth. According to his verdit Samjhu Sahu would pay the money to Algu. Algu was delighted when he found that their personal rivalry didn't prevent Jumman from speaking the truth. He announced delightfully that the voice of the panch is the voice of the God.
